I tell stories about health, science, and humans. I also connect journalists to experts and patients, train scientists to communicate their research, and design messaging to help the public and policymakers make important decisions. I believe stories have the power to drive positive change, and I take pride in communicating complex information in a way that is accurate, understandable, and compelling for everyday people.
My favorite stories to report are those that reveal unexpected connections, like the links between housing policy and the spread of COVID-19, why bacterial infections might cause Alzheimer’s disease, plus how “sweaty” mice give clues about a possible cure for obesity.
Though health and science has been a common thread throughout my career, I am also interested in exploring the human condition. On Substack, I write a (mostly) weekly newsletter about our collective longings, frustrations, and anxieties.
I am a Delco native and proud Philadelphian. I’m Tweeting about Philly, TV, and Wordle wins: @laureningeno. If you’d like to hire me to write, edit, or media train, please get in touch.
